If there’s one accessory that always spices up outfits and fits no matter the season, it’s the chunky vintage bangle. Whether you're channeling Iris Apfel or just trying to dress up a tank top and jeans, a couple of bold bangles can change the entire vibe of your outfit and your mood.

I love chunky bangles for so many reasons. They’re timeless! Bold silhouettes have been in style since ancient Egypt, and they’re not going anywhere. They don’t care about size, unlike rings or belts, which makes them the most loyal accessory in your closet. And they’re perfect for travel: stack a few with a linen dress and you’re instantly on vacation, even if you're just headed to brunch.

When it comes to styling, I like to stack bangles in similar materials or tones like Bakelite in warm caramels, Lucite in cool jewel shades. Chunky gold metal bangles are perfect for elevating vacation looks without the fear of tarnish. I also love mixing eras: a 1960s plastic bangle with an ‘80s enamel cuff? Absolutely. The only rule here is more is more - obvi!

Vintage bangles are also incredibly easy to source if you know what to search (I’ve got tips and shopping links for you below). Whether you’re going for a pop of color or a full-arm stack, these are the pieces that add personality and polish. So yes, throw one in your carry-on, keep another on your nightstand, and maybe one more in your glove box. You never know when a chunky bangle might come in handy. :)
